WestBay Maintenance

Bathroom
  • Wash with warm water and a mild dishwashing liquid or neutral cleaner specially formulated for natural stone.
  • Dust mop natural stone floors frequently and protect floor surfaces with non-slip mats or area rugs.
  • Blot up spills immediately.
  • Protect countertop surfaces with coasters, trivets, or placemats.
  • Don't use vinegar, lemon juice or other general purpose cleaners containing acids or abrasives on natural stone.
  • All travertine, limestone, marble & granite nstalled on floors, walls and counters must be completely sealed with a penetrating solvent based sealer. This should be done periodically, once a year after that for general maintenance. This is a preventative measure to avoid staining and/or penetration of liquids into the stone.
  • All horizontal and vertical corners should be caulked with a good silicone caulk in showers, on tub decks, and backsplashes.
  • Cracked or missing grout must be replaced.
  • Make sure to have a strong fan in the area of your shower to remove moisture during use. Leave your shower door open after use to promote air circulation and to expedite drying.

Note: All surfaces installed in wet areas are susceptible to water damage. Regular maintenance is a must!
